Welcome! Thanks for taking a peek at my evolving website. Every Wednesday I post a note about my attempts to become a published writer, and every month I try to add something new to the site, so I hope you'll bookmark me and come back often.

Last week’s reading list included: Elske by Cynthia Voight (1999), The Game by Laurie R. King (2004), and How to Start a... by Jim Smith (2007).

Someday I’m going to make a list of the things I’ve accomplished in my life. I’m thinking about this because I have a new one for the list: Saturday I finished a box of dental floss. There must be a thousand yards of string in those little buggers so using up a whole box is quite a feat. The cats and I made a small ceremony of dumping the non-recycleable plastic in the bathroom wastebasket.

Thump.

So you see how Saturday was a big day at our house. And Tuesday was, too. See, on Tuesday I finished the first round of edits on my manuscript-in-progress. Wah-hoo! That takes me one step closer to all sorts of things: possible publication, signing an agent, being a better writer, being a writer with a contract.

There’s as much work ahead of me as is behind me, but the view from here ain’t half bad. Yep, I’m going to take a little time to bask in the glow of my dual accomplishments of empty floss box and completed round of edits.

Ah....

Okay, enough basking. Time to get back to work.

See you next week,

Janet
